Athyx takes a performance-first approach in everything—from individual microchips to the finishing touches of the casing. This translates into three core principles:
- Sensors — unparalleled precision at <5% CV
- Algorithms — highest accuracy above 95%
- Battery — exceptional lifespan beyond months
Athyx wearables are precision-engineered with one goal: to help you win.
Athyx wearables are currently optimized for treadmill running and built around the Norwegian model. This is based on three core observations:
- Performance — the Norwegian Method consistently delivers. It has been validated both in scientific literature and real-world elite training, forming a reliable foundation for translational performance work.
- High SNR — training on the same treadmill with standardized protocols increases signal-to-noise ratio, making longitudinal trends clear and actionable.
- Alpha — generating meaningful performance gains requires precision measurement and disciplined execution. Athyx sits at the intersection of both.
Athyx will expand to other sports over time, with early protocols already being tested in cycling.
OBLA I launches July, 2026. Shipments begin immediately with highest priority given to current FLUX I users. We are committed to ensuring high reliability and consistency before launch. Sign up for our newsletter.
Download the Athyx app from App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android), then attach the FLUX I to your arm using the adjustable band. Open the app, tap to scan FLUX I, and follow the on-screen instructions to begin your first session. The entire setup takes under 60 seconds. See tutorial.
Yes. All Athyx wearables are rated IP68, meaning they are fully waterproof up to 50 meters for 30 minutes. You can safely wear them while swimming, showering, or training in the rain. The optical sensors and laser module are sealed with medical-grade gaskets to ensure long-term durability.
OBLA I tracks lactate, power, heart rate, core temperature, sweat and oxygen.
FLUX I measures sweat and its composition, including lactate during training. Sweat-derived signals are processed through internal algorithms to estimate lactate and sweat rate, providing a structured view of training intensity. For a more complete picture, it can be paired with additional sensors such as a heart rate monitor or power meter (sold separately).
FLUX I is your entry point into the Athyx ecosystem. It helps you get familiar with the system and build a consistent view of your training over time. Think of it as establishing a structured baseline. When you are ready for expanded capabilities, you can move to OBLA I for a broader view of training signals. The experience continues seamlessly across devices.
Athyx wearables are currently undergoing validation by independent research groups as well as internally by Black Mesa. Athyx adheres to high scientific standards, referencing peer-reviewed studies that compare its wearables against established laboratory gold standards.
